All-America Homes 1959 - plan #94

The redwood and stone exterior of this rambling ranch house seems to beckon a welcome. Inside it has many features that make a good home. It is on a modest scale yet you aren't aware of it. A roof over the entrance steps continues across the front of the living room as a trellis to give plants beneath it plenty of sun.

Note the large gliding bedroom and kit- chen windows, and the under roof windows which make tree tops and sky seem so near the living room. The gable provides sloping ceilings which follow the roof in all rooms. There's a built-up tar and gravel roof which rarely needs any attention. A stone wall at the front of the living room and hall is carried through to the interior, as shown in sketch.

There are two bathrooms, the inside one borrowing light by way of a glass block wall between the two rooms. Both rooms have counter lavatories. The basement has a large playroom, and beneath the kitchen is a furnace and room for laundry or drying.

This house is 54 feet across the rear and extends forward 52 feet. It can be placed either way on the property, covering 1290 square feet exclusive of the garage.
