All-America Homes 1959 - plan #34

Anyone looking for a small, somewhat unusual house will do well to study this one. Exterior is very simple and interior has many comforts. Natural redwood siding has plywood in gables, trim painted white. Trellises are for sun control but add much to the general appearance. Outside wall of carport creates row of good closets. House entrance is under cover. Note sketches showing foyer and livng room entrance.

Inside there's a wide lighting cove over sofa wall. Ceiling is wood paneled and slopes up to fireplace wall, other ceilings are level. Windows have sliding upper panels, those in living room covering the wall.

In many localities this house can be built on a 50-foot lot. Planting along terrace will give privacy. The terrace optically enlarges the house on entering as door to terrace is glass-paned. Plan covers 940 sq. ft. excluding carport, and is about 40 ft. wide including carport.
